After 24 Rounds in the WAFL Season and 20 home and away games the 2012 WAFL Finals series is upon us.

12 months ago the East Fremantle Football Club was smarting after a late season collapse cost the League side a finals berth.  The Reserves had a disappointing finals campaign and the Colts season ended at the same time as the League.

From the commencement of the pre season there was a quiet resolve about the players, coaches and support staff that suggested a determination to make season 2012 a successful one.

All three grades have affirmed this determination with honest and consistent performances which have resulted in finals participation for all commencing this Saturday.

The Colts, under Phil Cronan, finished the season in second place and will now face South Fremantle in the Second Semi Final this Saturday.

The group has improved remarkably from season 2011 and have shown a tremendous resilience to finish the season full of running after a slump mid year.  They will enter the finals series full of confidence.

The Reserves side have been top two all season and have only lost three games along the way.  This reflects the depth in our League squad and Michael Shanahan and all the coaching staff have done a tremendous job in developing our emerging talent over the home and away season.

The Reserves will face Claremont in the Second Semi Final this Saturday after finishing on top of the ladder.

The League side finished in third position, only four points behind both Claremont and Swan Districts, after a season that netted 14 wins and 6 losses.  This has been the Club's most successful home and away season since 1998.

We will host the 1st Semi Final versus East Perth at East Fremantle Oval this Saturday at 2:10pm.

Overall the Club has finished second in the Rodriguez Shield for the most successful Club of the home and away season across all grades, on 264, only 10 points shy of the winner, Claremont on 274.  Swan Districts were third on 190.

The players, coaches and staff have delivered opportunity for success in all three grades and we look forward to seeing the blue and white army of members and supporters following our teams throughout the 2012 WAFL Finals campaign.
