WOMEN IN FOOTBALL COMMITTEE SAY “THANK YOU” FOR YOUR SUPPORT
The East Fremantle Football Club Women in Football Committee took over the President’s Lunch last Sunday to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Care WA.
Louise Kelman, from “Big Purple Undies” fame brought a lot of laugher to the event with her wacky jokes and great sense of humour. She had them dancing in undies and wearing purple bras, all in aid of a great cause. Young Xavier Dhurrkay who was at the lunch representing his family for the Gary Dhurrkay Medal, which was presented to the best Reserves Player for the NAIDOC game, received a lot of attention from Louise as she had him assisting with the door prize giveaways as well as a short interview.
Other medals presented on the day were the Kevin Taylor Medal for the best player in the League game, and the Ryder Medal for the best Colts player. Kevin Taylor was in attendance and was interviewed by CEO, Adam Kelly.
Special guest Ken Wyatt, Federal Member for Hasluck was hoping not to be noticed by Louise, but unfortunately didn’t escape her mad antics and enjoyed participating in the frivolity of the day. The guests learnt a great deal about Aboriginal culture from Ken and his background, not to mention that he is a proud Sharks supporter despite being the No. 1 Ticketholder at Swan Districts.
Louise Kelman very kindly donated her fee for the day towards our fundraising efforts and the winner of our raffle also donated the prize back to the Club. The WIF Committee were delighted to raise in excess of $2,000 for Breast Cancer Care WA and would like to thank all those who attended for their generosity and support of the East Fremantle Football Club and Breast Cancer Care WA.
