Sharks Ready for Redemption
East Fremantle will be looking to bounce back this Saturday when they take on reigning premiers, Peel Thunder at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
Jesse Adamini, who was best on ground for the Sharks against Claremont, said the boys haven’t wasted any time at training this week.
“As a team, we’ve gone back to some of the basics, focusing on our skills and just being competitive,” he said.
Despite a strong first quarter, the boys weren’t able to maintain the intensity and pressure, but Adamini is adamant that won’t be the case this week.
“Definitely expect a four-quarter effort and a big lift from us from last week,” he said.
Wiley and his staff acted promptly to loss against Claremont, with up to nine changes in tomorrow’s side.
Of those nine inclusions, five could potentially make their league debut for the Sharks, in Alex Moreno, Jesse Mirco, Joel Kalajzic, Nathan Fahey and Brendan Tingey.
After missing last week with illness, Liam Anthony will be an important inclusion, along with Jake Schleicher, who had 34 possessions in the Development League last week. James Harrold and Andrew Stephen were also named in the initial 25-man side.
Finishing with 27 possessions, five marks and goal in just his eighth league game Adamini said he’s still developing as a player.
“It was good to start off well, but consistency is probably the main thing I need to work on now that I’m playing more league games,” he said.
As the Fremantle aligned team, Peel could play up to 15 AFL boys, but Adamini said it won’t change the way they play.
“Nothing changes for that, we have to stick to our basics, stick to our team structures and don’t really worry about that too much,” he said.
