Colts to Seniors

Thursday, January 25, 2018 - 8:23 PM

With a premiership under their belt, there is a lot to be excited about the next crop of East Fremantle players making the transition to senior football.

Thirteen of our colts from 2017 have been training with senior squad for preseason and have done so with flying colours.

Head coach Rob Wiley has been very impressed with how they have integrated into the senior side.

“The boys are displaying excellent fitness levels and it was particularly evident in their 3x 1km time trials,” Wiley said.

“Their skills are of a high quality and these guys can certainly handle themselves at this level.”

Amongst the group are dual Alan Trott Medallists, Zack Jackson and Jayden Quill; Chris Scott who was awarded the Mel Whinnen Medal in the colts grand final; and Dillon O’Reilly who not only took out the colts leading goal kicker in 2017, but also made his league debut.

Jye Stone, Aiden Wainwright and Trent Newton have already had a taste of senior football after being called up to the reserves in 2017, as injury plagued our more experienced players.

It’s very exciting for the future of the club to see the next group of East Fremantle talent make their mark in senior footy!
