Strnadica returns to Shark Park

The East Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce the return of one of our own, with Luke Strnadica signing with the Sharks for the next two seasons.

At 20 years of age, the 203cm Ruck/Forward will reunite with several former Colts team mates in the Blue and White.

Strnadica, a former AFL Academy squad member, played at Colts level for the Sharks in 2015 and 2016 where he caught the eye of recruiters. Playing as a Key Forward, he was selected by the Fremantle Football Club in the 2016 Rookie Draft at pick 21.

In his two years with Fremantle, Strnadica plied his trade in the Ruck under the eyes of former Sharks, Aaron Sandilands and Jonathon Griffin. Luke took his game forward significantly at Peel Thunder, but unfortunately couldn’t break into the AFL side. Registering 16 league games in the WAFL this year, the ruckman showed impressive progress and dominated ruck contests late in the season, averaging 22 hitouts, while still impacting the scoreboard, kicking 17 goals.

Football Operations Manager, Brad Dodd, was naturally delighted with the signing.

“We’re rapt that Luke has decided to sign on at the Sharks for the next 2 seasons,” Dodd said.

“Having witnessed his improvement over the last 2 seasons at Peel, we believe his best football is yet to come. Luke has a strong desire to win his way back onto an AFL list. We feel he’ll get some great tutoring from Jonathon Griffin with his Ruck craft while continuing to build on impacting up Forward.”

Luke will be joining his team mates at the Sharks when pre-season kicks off on November 26th
