Round 20 Preview | West Coast
It’s our final hitout for 2019 this Sunday, when we travel to Mineral Resources Park to take on West Coast.
Although East Fremantle cannot make the finals, it will be a crucial game for West Coast, who need a win to keep their September hopes alive.
The Sharks showed encouraging signs against Perth last week, but with a spot in the finals on the line, The Demons prevailed in the last term.
Into the side this week comes Brynn Teakle, Matt Burton, Ryan Lester-Smith, Andrew Stokes and Sean Fletcher. 19-year-old Teakle will line up for his first league game with the Sharks. Hailing from Northampton, the 202cm forward/ruck made a case for selection through his solid form in the Reserves this year. With Strnadica coming out of the side this week, it gives Teakle an opportunity up forward.
A hard-fought win by the Reserves last week secured them a spot in the 2019 finals series. They will enjoy the bye this week as there is no Eagles team in the Reserves. Who they face in the first week of the finals will depend on the winners from this round.
