Griff’s last hurrah
Captain Jon Griffin will lead the Sharks out onto New Choice Homes Park for the last time, this Sunday against Swan Districts.
It gives the Blue and White all the more to play for as they seek to finish the season on a high.
The sides are playing for the Kerry Coates / Joyce Allen Cup in recognition of two club stalwarts who lost their lives to MND. Players from both sides will wear blue armbands in a sign of respect.
After a disappointing fourth quarter fade out, the Sharks will need a sustained effort to get over Swans, who will go into the match with confidence after a convincing win over Perth last week.
Into the extended side this week comes Cameron Davidson, Rueben McGuire, Brodie Riach, Luke Strnadica as well as the retiring Captain, who was a late withdrawal against Subiaco.
Although they are now out of finals contention, our Reserves will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss last week.
Unfortunately, the Reserves will be without Corey Robinson (concussion) and Josh Ritchie who tore his ACL late in the match against Subiaco.
It’s do or die in the Colts match this Sunday. Win and the Sharks secure a finals berth under first year coach Adrian Ricciardello. Lose and they drop out of the top 4.
