Optus WAFLW Grand Final Preview

EAST Fremantle and Swan Districts are both in hot form and it sets the stage for quite the spectacle in the first ever WAFLW Grand Final on Saturday afternoon.

The inaugural Optus WAFLW Premiership Season has proved quite the success with the launch of the new five-team competition in 2019 to continue to build on the momentum created for female football by AFLW.

It was Claremont, East Fremantle, Peel Thunder, Subiaco and Swan Districts chosen as the five teams to take part in the first WAFLW season and there was precious little between the top four teams with only Peel missing out on a finals appearance.

Sharks set sights on inaugural WAFLW premiership

EAST Fremantle won the last WAWFL premiership and now Philipa Seth is hoping it can all come together for the Sharks on Saturday in the first ever WAFLW Grand Final against Swan Districts.

East Fremantle booked its spot in the inaugural WAFLW Grand Final this Saturday at Lathlain's Mineral Resources Park after beating Subiaco in the second semi-final two weeks before sitting back and watching Swan Districts book their place against them by also beating the Lions in the preliminary final.

One of the stars with the Sharks this season is Fremantle Dockers AFLW defender Philipa Seth as she now looks forward to the chance for East Fremantle to back up last year's WAWFL premiership by winning their first ever WAFLW Grand Final on Saturday.

VALE - LEN ANDERSON

The East Fremantle Football Club was deeply saddened to hear the news that Len Anderson passed away on September 8th, 2019.

Lenny was a proud and passionate East Fremantle man, dedicating his time to the Club well after his playing career.

Between 1956-1963, Lenny played 108 games for The Sharks, including the 1957 Premiership.

Reserves Semi Final vs Subiaco

Optus WAFLW Semi Finals Wrap

EAST Fremantle is straight through to the inaugural WAFL Women's Grand Final after winning Sunday's second semi-final against Subiaco while Swan Districts kept its season alive at the expense of Claremont.

The first ever season of the Optus WAFLW competition saw precious little separating the top four teams and each of those ended up qualifying for the inaugural finals series with only Peel Thunder missing out on competing.

Both semi-final contests took place on Sunday afternoon with one team to advance to the Grand Final while two others would move into a preliminary final and another would end up eliminated.

Reserves defeat Royals in Elimination Final
