Dave WOODS
The football career of Dave Woods was a long and honourable one. From a modest beginning at the end of 1923 Woods rose to great heights as a fullback.
For a few seasons his position alternated between attack and centre where his pace and tremendously long drop kicking enabled him to hold his place. Woods found his true home at fullback on the retirement of Jack Jones. He came to the position in his prime and was always dashing and reliable. Woods held his position as East Fremantle’s fullback from 1929 until his retirement in 1935 and he was the automatic choice for all WA Interstate and Carnival games during that period.
