Else PARK
Else PARK gave many years service and maintained her love and commitment to the East Fremantle Football Club until the end of her days.
Else Park’s husband Archie, was a trainer from 1936 until his death in 1958.
Both Else & Elsie became just as well known about the place as their husbands. Originally they were members of the unofficial Ladies Committee who catered for the dances run regularly. They spent many a wet and windy Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval selling sandwiches, soup and scones, all home made of course, as their contribution to the Club. This fundraising became particularly important after the War when a move away from Fremantle Oval was mooted. At the beginning of the 1950’s these two ladies and their special group went into top gear running refreshment stalls on match day and catering for other Club social functions. In their later years player’s teas, after match refreshments for the players and afternoon teas were added to their duties. The famed afternoon teas at East Fremantle are a legacy of these great ladies.
