Jack “Skinny” BAIRD
Jack ‘Skinny’ Baird played all of his football in the back pocket and, though there was never much of him, he was never one to put up with much nonsense from heavier opponents.
As a left footer he was invariably stationed on the left flank and there were many matches when this “rugged” splinter was the Club’s outstanding player, despite the fact that the position did not lend itself to showiness. After his playing days were over Jack gave some time to the Club as a member of the Committee and then became a fixture in the Property Room where he filled the role as bootstudder for many years.
