Jack “Stork” CLARKE (Legend)
Jack ‘Stork’ Clarke came from country W.A. to become one of the best Ruckman in Western Australia.
He played against the likes of Merv McIntosh, ‘Polly’ Farmer, ‘Blue’ Foley and Keith Slater and more than held his own. His brilliance belied the fact that football was very much a part time activity for Jack as his main focus was the family farm at Jennacubbine. Tall and of lean build he had the leap and judgment to get the ball out to his Rovers cleanly, giving them a clear run in open space. He played with great consistency and was able to prove himself at home and Interstate against the highest quality opposition. Jack remained faithful to East Fremantle Football Club and W.A. all his life never showing the slightest interest in playing for any Victorian Club.
