Percy JOHNSON
Percy’s height and athletic ability made him tailor made as a Ruckman and he played his part feeding the ball out to his rovers with consistency and accuracy, both at Club level and for the state.
Percy was often rested on the half forward line where his high marking and play-on tactics paved the way for numerous scoring opportunities. When played in defence Percy’s high marking ability again came to the fore and he stopped innumerable opposition thrusts at the goals. His speed, in both thought and movement, and his agility, made him hard to counter wherever he was placed.
