Foundation Derby Lunch a hit

Wednesday, June 8, 2016 - 11:27 AM

On Friday 3rd June the Sharks and The Left Bank hosted the inaugural Foundation Derby Lunch in the River Bar at The Left Bank Bar & Café. It was a sell-out crowd of supporters and sponsors who enjoyed the hospitality of the Left Bank and an afternoon packed with special guests, presided over by MC Brett Sprigg did a fantastic job.

Throughout the afternoon, the audience had the pleasure of listening to interviews with the Sharks’ skipper, Jamie McNamara and Bulldogs’ vice-captain Adam Guglielmana. Next up came  opposing coaches, including Sharks Head Coach Rob Wiley and Bulldogs assistant coach Brett Duffield. The highlight of the afternoon was welcoming the Legendary footballer and AFL Premiership coach, Mick Malthouse to the stage to sit down and share past memories with long-time friend, Rob Wiley.

The opportunity to have Mick Malthouse come over from Melbourne and speak at our Foundation Derby Lunch was an honour and the Sharks thank him for his support. Mick and Rob recalled their days together at Richmond, West Coast and Carlton, including their first impressions of each other.

The Left Bank put on a great afternoon, with guests treated to their new cocktail menu featuring coconut prawns, pulled pork sliders and handmade aranchini. The Left Bank have a number of function rooms available for guests to hire, contact 9319 1315.
