Development Derby Showdown
Last week’s stunning 2-point win over Subiaco earned East Fremantle’s Development League a spot in the 2016 WAFL semi final.
The Sharks take on cross-town rivals, South Fremantle, in the 1st Semi Final at Medibank Stadium on Sunday.
From the first bounce in last week’s nail biting win, the Sharks controlled much of the game, kicking four goals to Subiaco’s one point.
Whilst the Sharks were somewhat wasteful in the later stages of the game, they were undoubtedly happy to walk away with a narrow victory.
Jesse Adamini stood out, finishing with 36 disposals and a goal, while Jacob Green was strong up front. Dylan Winton and Josh Cuneo were excellent down back and will be hoping for repeat performances this weekend.
South Fremantle has proved to be a nemesis in the 2016 season, winning all three encounters between the teams. However our boys have been in the position to win each of the games and should not be intimidated by the record.
Coaching staff expect minimal changes to the line up ahead of Sunday’s clash, with the possible inclusion of Adrian Ricciardello after missing last week.
The Development Leagues’ recent run of good form should instil confidence in the team as they battle the Bulldogs in a do-or-die match.
The winner of Sunday’s game will take on the loser of the East Perth v Claremont final in the Preliminary Final next weekend.
Get down to MediBank Stadium this Sunday to support our boys, Bounce down at 12:25pm
