Round 5 Match Preview | Sharks v Demons
The Sharks return to New Choice Homes Park this Saturday to host the Perth Demons in Round 5 of the Optus WAFL Premiership Season.
Following an unexpected week off, East Fremantle will need to be at their best to defeat a strong Perth Demons side.
The Demons, sitting in 8th position on the ladder with a 1-2 win loss record, defeated the West Coast Eagles Reserves side in Round 1 before falling short to Claremont and Swan Districts.
The team goes in relatively unchanged from its Round 3 clash against the Royals, with Tom Monaghan, Morgan Davies and Durak Tucker coming into the extended squad.
The match will be Morgan Davies' 50th WAFL game, with the Albany product joining East Fremantle in the 2019 season following 3 seasons at Claremont.
Davies has averaged 17 disposals and a fraction under 4 marks a game in his WAFL career and will looking to produce similar numbers against the Demons.
The Reserves, who currently sit in 2nd spot on the WAFL Reserves ladder with a 2-1 win-loss record, will be looking to win and gain top spot on the ladder with just 4 percent separating them and the first placed Subiaco.
They recorded a comprehensive win in Round 3, defeating East Perth 12.9 (81) to 3.7 (25). Cody Smith (25 disposals), Lachlan McGrath (3 goals) and Max Murphy (3 goals) starred for the Sharks.
The Colts, who also have a 2-1 win-loss record will take on a winless Perth Demons, who have suffered two heavy losses to start their campaign.
