Round 6 Match Preview | Sharks v Eagles
The Sharks return to New Choice Homes Park this Saturday to host the West Coast Eagles in Round 6 of the Optus WAFL Premiership Season.
Following a disappointing result against the Demons last week, East Fremantle will need to produce a four-quarter effort to defeat the West Coast Eagles.
In exciting news, Jakob Ah Chee will make his league debut in the final game before the state bye and is named in a forward pocket.
Ah Chee, 25, is likely to debut against his older brother Brendon, who is on the West Coast Eagles list and lined up in the Eagles WAFL side last week. Jakob's younger brother, Callum, currently plays for Brisbane.
Ah Chee's debut comes following a string of impressive performances in the Reserves, where he didn’t look out of place against some tough opposition.
Last years Reserves Best and Fairest has averaged 10.8 disposals, above three marks and three tackles a game in 2021, including a season-best 12 disposal, seven mark and three tackle game last week.
A popular member of the group, the high pressure forward will provide plenty of energy to the Sharks forward line.
In addition to Ah Chee, the Sharks welcome back Josh Schoenfeld, Luke English and Matthew Burton into the team. Schoenfeld and English return from injury while Burton has been rewarded for some excellent form in the Reserves.
Milan Murdock (leg), Dillon O'Reilly (concussion) are unavailable through injury while Jordan Snadden and Michael Tassone have been omitted.
East Fremantle will be looking to gain four-premiership points and move back into the top-5 with a win over the Eagles. A win will also mean the Sharks reach the state-bye break with a 3-2 win-loss record.
The West Coast Eagles Reserves, who currently sit in 9th Position on the ladder with a percentage of 56.3, will be looking to register their first win of the season against the Sharks at New Choice Homes Park - make sure you come down and watch what will be a fantastic game of football.
LAST TIME WE MET:
East Fremantle 8.11 (59) were defeated by West Coast 12.10 (82) @ Mineral Resources Park
A strong West Coast Eagles Side defeated East Fremantle at Mineral Resources Park. Brendan Ah Chee was the difference with 4 goals.
