East Fremantle have been defeated 9.8 (62) to 13.10 (88) by a strong Peel Thunder side at New Choice Homes Park.
The Sharks lost almost every key facet of the game with Peel dominating disposal (392-310), kicks (269-178) and inside 50’s (39-47).
Peel were especially dominant in the second term, where they kicked five goals to one, to extend the two-goal quarter time margin to 42 points at the main break.
The Sharks were able to win the second half but with the intensity slightly removed from the game, the Sharks would be disappointed at their first half performance.
In his 50th WAFL game and his highly anticipated return to Shark Park, AFL-great Harry Taylor impressed on his return. Taylor bagged four goals and was impressive in the forward half as he tallied 15 disposals, 5 marks and 11 score involvements.
Cameron Eardley continued his impressive 2021 form collecting 28 disposals, seven marks and six tackles to be once again named amongst the best on ground.
Last weeks Player of the Day Kyle Baskerville was also named amongst the best on ground following his 18 disposal, three-mark game while captain Matthew Jupp was again named amongst the best on ground for his impressive performance down back.
Alex Montauban kicked his first two goals of the season during his 15 disposal performances. The only player to kick multiple goals for the Sharks besides Taylor, it was only Montauban’s third game since returning to the side following injury and looked every .
The Sharks travel north to Provident Financial Oval to take on West Perth in the postponed fixture from Round 4. Bill Monaghan’s side will be looking to return to the winners list following back to back losses and keep their top 5 chances alive with a victory
