COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER POSITION OPEN

Since our formation in 1898, the East Fremantle Football Club (EFFC) has become one of the most successful clubs not only in Western Australian football, but in Western Australian sport. With improving on-field results, our temporary trailblazing move to the WACA and the redevelopment of our iconic home – New Choice Homes Park, we have a fantastic story to tell. 

The role of the Communications & Social Media Officer will be to promote the Club in a positive space in all areas of communication & social media, plus providing a professional & efficient graphic design through our website and social media platforms.

Please note this is a part time role - February to October 2022

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality, compelling marketing and communication campaigns
  • Ensure EFFC brand values are communicated effectively
  • Manage the Club’s social media presence on appropriate platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn)
  • Coordinating marketing activity calendar
  • Manage the Club’s website including design, content and structure.
  • Liaise with colleagues on posting content to the website, review comms content to ensure it meets the Club’s standards
  • Create content & co-ordinate EDM development & distribution
  • Produce a weekly e-Newsletter with BDM to members & supporters
  • Manage relationships with external service providers

Key Criteria:

The successful applicant must demonstrate:

  • Be creative and have a strong sense of design
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media, up to date with trends on these platforms
  • Knowledge of digital marketing metrics and analytics
  • Competent graphic design skills (Adobe, Canva minimum)
  • Competency in video production/editing graphics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, hands-on person with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.  Ability to plan and multitask.
  • Willingness to work outside of business hours, including weekends ie: match day and after hours
  • Have strong IT skills, including Office - Outlook, Power point, Word & Excel
  • Proficiency with MailChimp

Desirable:

Experience working with a Board of Directors.
