Rd 15 League - The Left Bank Wrap Up with Taylor Cowper
East Fremantle are back in the winner’s circle after a huge 96 point win against Perth at the WACA ground on Saturday afternoon.
The Sharks exit the weekend sitting second on the WAFL ladder after handing the Demons their 10th straight loss 23.14 (152) to 9.2 (56).
East Fremantle take on ladder leaders West Perth this weekend in what will be the match of the round at Pentanet Stadium.
Blaine Boekhorst, after missing the Derby started where he left off racking up 32 disposals and 2 goals with the rest of the midfield contributing in the massive win. Milan Murdock added 32 touches, Josh Schoenfeld added 31 with Cam Eardley contributing 24 touches.
Jonathon Marsh had a field day kicking a massive 5 goals.
Jed Hagan had a great debut game for the Sharks kicking two goals and adding 20 disposals whilst looking comfortable playing League footy and proving that he is a genuine draft prospect.
League Coach Bill Monaghan said that there are many challenges to come for the Sharks heading to the finals. “We played a top side last week in South and underperformed. We play West Perth next weekend in another top of the table game and that is going to be a great challenge. Our challenges are going to be greater going further over the next period”.
“People don’t think we are the real deal and that offends me because we have worked hard”, said Monaghan. The Sharks are expected to see the return of regular League players Dillon O’Reilly, Jamie Meade, Alex Montauban, Max Murphy and Tom Monaghan over the next few weeks while Jeremy Goddard is available after serving a 2 week suspension.
East Fremantle take on West Perth next Saturday the 6th of August at 2.10pm. You can watch the game live through the AFL App or afl.com.au or via Channel 7 Perth.
