RD5 Rogers Cup Match Day Report
RD5 Rogers Cup Match Day Report
It was a Good Friday Rogers Cup super-round with the Sharks taking the field for the third game of the day against Peel.
Taylah York and Tayla Cooper came into the side for their first games of the season. Peel were the fast starters kicking the opening two goals of the game before an evasive Tanayah Buswell put the Sharks on the board.
The second quarter was hard fought, with Elsie Simpson kicking truly from a set shot to bridge Peel’s margin to seven points at the main interval.
The third quarter proved to be a turning point in the game with East Fremantle able to move the ball more freely. As a result, Grace Freeman calmly slotted her fifth goal for the season before fellow forwards Cooper and Charli Bidwell hit the scoreboard. When Cooper kicked her second the Sharks had extended their advantage to twenty points.
The final term was one goal a piece with Sophie Williams kicking a well-deserved goal as the Sharks recorded a 19 point victory at Revo Fitness Stadium.
The Rogers Cup now have a bye while the WAFLW League team take on Peel on Saturday April 15 at 12pm in Mandurah.
