2023 KIA STATE TEAM ANNOUNCED
Get ready for an electrifying showdown as Western Australia unveils its 23-man squad for the highly anticipated Kia State Game against South Australia at Adelaide Oval on Friday.
East Fremantle’s Matthew Jupp will captain the side, which is looking to reclaim the prestigious Haydn Bunton Cup.
Prepare to witness a thrilling mix of youthful vigor and seasoned expertise as some of our talented players make their sensational state debut.
WA coach Cam Shepherd has high hopes for the team, which will fly out to Adelaide on Thursday morning before holding a Captain’s Run later that day near the Adelaide Oval.
“There was really good spirit amongst the group at the side’s main training session on Tuesday night, and we feel the side selected is well prepared to get a victory on Friday,” Shepherd said.
Subiaco Premiership hero Leigh Kitchin and Claremont Sandover Medallist Bailey Rogers has missed selection due to injury, but it has opened the door for West Perth player Mitch Dobson to come into the team.
