Futures Pre-Season Update
After a long pre-season that commenced back in November our young Futures men are looking forward to the commencement of their carnival this weekend.
The boys have been working hard at training over the last four months learning game plans and styles of play that should see them have a successful carnival. It has been most pleasing to see the way the boys have adapted and delivered on what they have been instructed by the coaching staff.
The coaches have worked diligently with the group to build a strong culture and bring the team together as one to allow them to play some exciting and disciplined football over the next few weeks. Aside from training the group have participated in a beach session and lawn bowls that has helped build the comradery amongst coaches and the playing group.
Earlier this week the players and parents came together with a season launch that outlined the program ahead. The group were privileged to hear from some great guest speakers, which included 2023 Premiership player Kyle Baskerville and Michael Schneider (whose story was an inspiration to all in the room). The one message that was evident from the evening was that there is more to our program than just football. It was very clear from all speakers that there is genuine care and passion for our players to do well, wherever life takes them.
I would like to thank Brentwood-Booragoon JFC for their generous use of the facilities over our program, along with our program sponsors : AOS, Benno Civil and Plumbing, One 2 One, Lift Equipt, and PCB Contractors. The generous support of these sponsors is most appreciated by all within our program.
This Sunday the boys get to put it all on display as they take on Swan Districts in Round 1, 9:30am kick off at Steel Blue Oval. For those looking to get their live footy fix in , I would encourage you to come down and support our young stars of the future.
