East Fremantle is delighted to introduce exciting, young talent Jesse Mirco as the Club’s latest recruit for the 2017 season.

The 19-year-old, who was recruited from South Fremantle, is looking forward to his football future with the club.

“I’m excited for a new challenge, different team mates, and a bit more opportunity to hopefully play some league footy,”Mirco said.

His football pathway began with South Coogee Junior Football Club, before progressing through South’s development squads and after two years in Colts, spent the 2016 season in Reserves.

Mirco featured in both the State 16’s and 18’s squads, spending time with the Shark’s Development League coach Mark Pashby, who at that stage was involved himself in the State Academy programs.

“Jesse is versatile forward who can play back, but I think he’s a natural forward,” Pashby said.

“He’s extremely smart with his leading patterns.”

The 192cm Mirco started 2016 down back, but made his way forward, finishing the season with 40 goals, leading all goal scorers in the WAFL Reserves competition, showing that strong leading, but also displaying very strong marking and accurate kicking for goal (66% accuracy).

"I've heard good things about Rob Wiley, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and working with him," Mirco said.
