Two Sharks selected in the 2019 AFLW Draft
The East Fremantle Football Club would like to congratulate Roxanne Roux and Ann McMahon on their selection in the 2019 AFLW Draft.
Roux was the first West Australian selected, going to the Fremantle Dockers at number 12. The 17-year-old was touted as one of the most exciting players in the entire draft. This culminates a great year for the youngster after she was named in the 2019 All Australian under 18s side as well as staring in East Fremantle’s WAFLW Premiership.
McMahon was also chosen by Fremantle with pick number 35. She is a versatile player who was pivotal in the Sharks WAFLW grand final win. Ann suffered an ACL injury in the early part of the 2018 season and returned midway through the 2019 WAFLW season, returning to her great form.
This is a huge credit to the fantastic program run by East Fremantle Women’s Football Club, with over 15 players drafted since the inception of AFLW.
