Sharks Comeback Not Enough as Tigers Sneak Home
East Fremantle have suffered their third consecutive loss by a goal or less, falling 5 points short of Claremont in a 9.6 (60) to 10.5 (65) thriller at New Choice Homes Park.
It was an extraordinary final-term burst which kept East Fremantle in the game, kicking four goals in five minutes to breathe life into the contest with just two minutes to go.
Cody Leggett played his best game in the blue and white hoops recording 25 disposals, three tackles and two goals while Jordan Snadden continued his red-hot form with 21 disposals and six marks.
Thomas Bennett and Cam Eardley continued to find plenty of the football, combining for an impressive 6 tackles, 39 disposals and a goal while Milan Murdock continued to apply his trademark pressure with 6 tackles.
Up forward, Ambrose Ryan kicked two goals and looked lively in his second game of the season while Jonathan Griffin recorded 21 hit outs to maintain his spot in the top five for the season’s hit-outs.
In defence, Durack Tucker played his best game for the Sharks and recorded nine disposals while Dylan Winton and Matthew Jupp were once again impressive down back.
East Fremantle will travel to Leederville Oval this Saturday to take on last year's premiers, Subiaco. Bill Monaghan will be hoping his side can continue their good form shown in patches throughout the last month and the Sharks can return to the winners list.
