NAB AFL Auskick East Fremantle Gala Day
The annual NAB AFL Auskick East Fremantle Gala Day hosted at Rossmoyne Junior Football Club took place on the weekend. There were 115 teams in attendance, with all 14 Auskick centres within the East Fremantle District represented. Totalling to over 800 kids throughout the day.
The round-robin carnival style gives the opportunity for the kids the chance to play modified matches against other district clubs for the first time. The day gives the Auskickers the chance to put into practise everything they have learnt throughout the footy season.
Each team played 3 games each, with many other activities throughout the day such as running races, tug of war and a longest kick competition. There were 6 East Fremantle Sharks players in attendance, including captain Matthew Jupp. The boys signed plenty of autographs, handed out footballs and posters, as well as testing out their strength against some teams in tug of war. Shredder the Shark was also a fan favourite amongst the kids.
NAB AFL Auskick is the best way to introduce kids to the game of Australian Rules Football. It’s all about fun, getting hands on the ball and constantly being involved in exciting activities. Auskick offers an inclusive environment for boys and girls aged between 5 and 8 with varying skill levels.
The day was a success with plenty of smiles amongst all the kids and families. Plenty of great memories for all in attendance for what is the start of their football journeys. Special thanks to Rossmoyne Junior Football Club for hosting the event and to Fuel to Go and Play for supplying free fruit to participants!
