Doug GREEN
Doug Green may have never kicked a 6 pointer but he achieved a great many goals in his football career.
A close checking Centre Half Back who denied opposition forwards space to move, he used his height, strength and great leap to out mark and out position forwards at both Club and interstate level. Accurate kicking was not a strong feature of Doug’s game. Early in his career he played a game at half forward. Getting the ball was no problem but out of 11 shots at goal he kicked 7 behinds and 4 out of bounds and was immediately banished to the backline, where he forged an outstanding career in the blue and white.
