Fred LEWIS
Fred Lewis came to East Fremantle via the then unallocated Thornlie area after playing some junior football for East Victoria Park in the Perth zone.
He made his League debut in 1964 aged 17 and his State debut the following year. Much of his career was spent at Centre Half Forward where, with his strong marking and classic drop kicking, he was able to send the ball into the goalmouth. He had considerable pace and his ability to turn at speed often made it difficult for opponents to keep him within reach. He was East Fremantle’s top goal kicker in 1697. Injury brought his career to an end in 1972.
