LEAGUE
East Fremantle return to the WACA for the 3rd straight game, looking to bounce back after a tough loss to West Perth last week. This weekend's opponents, Subiaco, are in good form, having won their last 3, including a tough 12- point win against South Fremantle last weekend.
The Lions sit equal top with a 4-1 record and welcome back Jack Mayo, the key position player who missed most of last season with a knee injury. Mayo will form part of a strong forward line along with Bernie Naylor Medallist, Ben Sokol, Ryan Borchet and the elusive Robert Hansen Jr.
The Sharks midfield misfired last week against West Perth, with Kyle Baskerville, Milan Murdock, Josh Schoenfeld and Jackson McDonald all down on their usual output. To compound things further, recruits Harry Marsh and Tom Joyce will miss the clash with minor niggles. Into the team will come the returning Fraser Turner, who missed last week with illness, and Ben McGuire, who will make his club debut after making the move from East Perth.
Down back, Jarrad Jansen and Matthew Jupp will have their hands full with Borchet and Sokol, while Lennon Marlin makes his Sharks debut having previously played 45 games with West Coast and Perth. Marlin will replace the unlucky Max Murphy, who will miss multiple weeks after breaking his wrist against the Falcons. The final change sees last weeks debutant, Sam Collins miss out and into the side comes Chris Walker.
RESERVES
In the Reserves, with the injury list creeping up, opportunity opening up for some Colts to come in and make their Senior debuts. This week Will Anderson, Felix Visser and Phoenix Knight play their first Reserves game for the club. They’re joined by the returning Sam Collins while Austin Ball returns having missed last week through personal reasons. Subiaco have made a blistering start to the Reserves season, having won last years premiership, to sit on top with a 5-0 record. The Sharks have been competitive in all their games and will be looking forward to the challenge of taking on the best side in the Reserves competition.
COLTS
In the Colts, the Sharks and Lions sit side by side in 3rd and 4th position. The Sharks had a scrappy win against West Perth last game and will be looking to build on their strong start to the season before the State 18s commences. Into the side comes Noah Dean, Luke Cardy and Jacob Hills while Griffin Vladich is an out through injury.
The Colts kick the day off at 9.00am, followed by the Reserves and 1130am, the WAFLW at 2pm and the WAFL League at 4.10pm.
